Background:

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife who moved to Salt Lake this summer from the Rosebud Sioux (Lakota) Indian Reservation in Rosebud, South Dakota, where I had been in clinical midwifery practice. I have a PhD in nursing from the University of Colorado, as well as degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, and Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York City. I am a veteran of the Navy Nurse Corps and have also held faculty positions at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine, and East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
